Universal Studios Hollywood Case Study
About Them:
Universal Studios Hollywood is a film production studio and theme park located in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. As one of the oldest and most famous studios still in use, they receive millions of visitors a year to their theme park. It was first created as a tour experience of the real Universal Studios sets but has since grown to include various roller coasters, attractions, restaurants and more. Their tagline is “The Entertainment Capital of LA.”
Project Overview:
Universal Studios Hollywood theme park was looking to integrate a new ticketing system- Galaxy Ticketing System (GTS). After the goals of the project were set, it was broken up into several phases. The first phase included converting the Parking Operations to the new system. One challenge we faced in this phase was converting the Parking Toll Booths to GTS- implementing the new system while the old one was still in place created co-existence issues between the two systems. Another challenge we faced involved integration with other systems including Finance, Loss Prevention, Parking Operations, and Web Assets for Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Orlando.
